Silicon Dreams is live on Kickstarter as we speak!

Silicon Dreams
“Silicon Dreams” is a game of trust and betrayal set in a cyberpunk future. In a world where everyone has an android servant, it’s your job to figure out which ones are “defective” and report them to management. But what happens when an android just wants a little freedom? Is that a defect?
We are very inspired by Blade Runner as well as NeoCab and Papers, Please. For more on that, see Jamie’s post about being inspired by cyberpunk in general, and Blade Runner in particular.
Why Kickstarter?
We’ve been working on the game for a few months now, and we could really use your support! We’re a tiny team of 2 people and don’t have a huge amount of social media reach, so the campaign will sink or swim based on you guys and your support.
No matter what happens, this game will get made! But without your support (both financial and emotional) we won’t have the resources to make this game what we think it deserves to be.
We have a lot of inspiration to draw from and already have so many ideas for interesting characters and new mechanics that would make this game an even richer, deeper experience.
Upcoming stuffs to look out for
We’ve been hard at work preparing a bunch of fun stuff for your enjoyment. Consider popping by one of our dev streams, listening in on a podcast we’ve been invited to, or watching any of the twitch streamers who have decided to give our game a shot:

- Live stream of the game with Dev commentary 8.4. @ 17:00 UTC+2
- Game Wisdom Podcast hosted by Josh Bycer 9.4. @ 21:00 UTC+2
- AMA 22.4. @ 5pm UTC+2

Um, so about this pandemic…
This will come as no surprise: it is now law that all things everywhere must include some reference to “the ‘rona”.
We are both super lucky to be able to work from home, so the current pandemic hasn’t had a huge (or noticeable?) impact on our game development. But! (and this is a big but) we know this isn’t true for everyone!
As such, we’ve decided to implement an extra-super-bonus refund policy for our Kickstarter campaign. You can cancel your pledge at any time before the end of the project through Kickstarter itself. In addition, we realize that people’s situations can change rapidly overnight, so we’ll be offering full refunds to any backers right up to the date pledges are fulfilled – no exceptions, no questions asked. We want to take care of our fans and supporters, and your well-being is much more important to us than your money.
When can I get it!?
First of all, there’s a free demo you can play right now!
You want the game. We get it: it’s awesome! Depending on the success of the Kickstarter (therefore the amount of extra goodies we get to add to Silicon Dreams ^_^) our planned launch is between August and December… OF THIS YEAR!
There’s a lot of work ahead of us, but we’ve done our due diligence and planned our timelines and we’re confident this is achievable. Watch this space for when something unexpected crops up and this timeline shifts – but have no fear, we’re committed to keeping you in the loop no matter what happens.
I’m on board! Now what?
In the rare event that you haven’t already visited the Kickstarter page (what are you doing, it was literally the first link!) you should definitely go do that. Even if you don’t want to give us money, we put a lot of love into this project and a share/like/retweet on your social media of choice would be a HUGE help to us.
If that’s not your cup ‘o tea, consider following our social medias, we post frequent updates on all of them and it’s just a great time.
That about wraps it up for us! So please back if you can, share and retweet and all that jazz, and we’ll see you on the other side.
