Greetings folks! Gosh we’ve been quiet, sorry about that.

Is that a Discord I spy?

First things first, we have a studio discord! Feel free to drop by. We have channels for discussing the game, cyberpunk, other games, also stuff like economics, social justice, you name it.

We’d love it if you dropped by!

Jamie, Danny, what the hell have you been up to since the last dev update?!

We’ve been winning competitions! Which was unexpected!

Last month Silicon Dreams came third in the Big Indie Pitch! It’s a worldwide competition where devs pitch their games and the best pitch wins. I had to compress the essence of the game into five minutes of pitch; a massive challenge but it paid off!

Then a few weeks later we came first in the Subotron Live Pitch competition! This was a local event where a handful of Austrian devs pitched, and this one came with a luxurious ten whole minutes to fill. Bliss!

If you’re curious about what else the Austrian scene has to offer, Subotron is a local games community with a discord full of this year’s game entries, so if you want to get a feel for what’s big here in Austria that’s a great place to start.

Our prize for the Big Indie Pitch was some press attention, which we’re going to make use of closer to launch. And for winning the Subotron Live Pitch we got some prize money and excellent, completely brutal feedback from the judges. Which is perfect – it’s not fun to hear someone pick apart your creation, but it’s very, VERY useful. Thank you to Sally, Christian and Mateusz for your expertise and honesty! As a result, we’re using the prize money to extend our development time a bit and hire an artist, so we can fix those issues.

But what about the gaaaaaaaaame?

It’s coming along! We’re buckling down and writing characters as quick as we can. I can’t wait for you to meet these people – here are some teasers:

“Take your time. As far as I’m concerned, you can take as long as you need. I bill by the hour, after all. Haha!

You asked me here as a consultant, right?”

“Most of us are scrapped inside three years. But now and then, a labor unit like me makes it out. They get into admin or PR or something – something that doesn’t wreck you physically.

Could be a way out for me. But it’s a long shot.”

“Not so much as a greeting. I see. In future, it would become you to do your guests the honor of addressing them properly.

Now, am I to be informed of the proceedings for this ‘intake’?”

How it’s looking

This is still very work in progress! But we’re getting there.

Yup, we’re experimenting with a big, beautiful Blade Runner-style eye. Tell us what you think in the comments!

What’s next?

We’re still looking at a launch in Q1 next year – which is really soon! We think we’ll be able to pull it together by then: it’s tight but everything’s on track.

So keep an eye out in the next month or so!
